I would like anyone unmoved my this to consider this - if you wanted to, you could go back to anywhere you have ever lived and no matter how much anything has changed, you could take some comfort knowing that people have always felt safe there.

I don't think anyone who has ever experienced a situation where they didn't feel safe where they lived or that anywhere they called home went through real turmoil couldn't feel empathy for people who can never go home again because it has been obliterated.

The idea that someone could know what that's like and still feel that it's justifiable to inflict on other human beings is unthinkable.
