I'm struggling to imagine what the opposite of a common celebration would look like in THIS world.
Let's try this for 6th century Wales. People gather silently in the king's stables for a mouth-watering meal of cabbage. They listen to the soothing voice of the village drunkard shouting rubbish about toenail clippings as they all sob together, knocking back goblets of clean ground water.
