The @CollegeofPolice currently appear to be advising the nation’s police officers that wives who withhold access to make up and nail varnish, or who object to their husband’s new ‘identity’ are committing domestic abuse.

The College are the body responsible for professional police practice, but have uncritically accepted the contentious notion that everyone has a ‘gender identity’. A message the nation’s police officers will be receiving. They signpost to a document produced by the Scottish Transgender Alliance, which was researched by LGBTY Scotland. Within this, anything other than unquestioning acceptance is seen as ‘transphobic behaviours'.

The College didn’t consult or reference groups like @transwidows or @ChildrenOfTrans before producing this. Both groups could have given them an entirely different perspective on the subject of domestic abuse and ‘gender identity’. The CPS had similar guidance previously. They seem to be revisited it though. The College of Policing should do the same - and stop gaslighting vulnerable women as ‘domestic abusers’.
