Trying to keep a singular language of value. In theory Bitcoin could adopt privacy, it just needs the node runners to choose to implement improvements. In practice, Bitcoin wouldn't gain adoption by wall street it it was so private. Bitcoin is trustable because it's transparently verifiable. Once it gains mainstream adoption the issue of privacy is an lnbc100n1pnusxfxpp5j0wlgc70skyzlzhhva9na4ylfpxywu3tj0chszdku66tvsxpa6tqhp50sw7n9dkhkfp4fqxgedrevdy630c4jdn55yvameu5xhfhze0qtdqcqzpuxqrwzqsp5ku7qgjgwcyt4sg0c60ymyd9ztchpf9jsfkeff5xtmxwlhkw7809s9qxpqysgqt8c6qrxtvw3u07hgs5z450s4frz2xa88yp4dv7lwm7xy7qnxdrqnxxug2daqtts0g4y3gcga4zfkyerp5u96x3s3xu25xnwk39pphvqq742rr4 obvious advantage to everyone. The state will have less power because it has lost the money printer, so can't use leverage to keep it out of the financial system. Then like a Trojan horse Bitcoin can evolve into something with privacy on the base layer. Monero is the catalyst for Bitcoin to improve, because those who have adopted it don't want to loose their investment.
That's the optimist version
