I like this image, these are the tiberium harvesters in command and conquer with nothing to do as the supply of the tiberium field was exhausted.
Before Bitcoin this was the only digital scarcity I knew of (in a fictitious realm).
With a fixed preprogrammed supply issuance, it does not matter how many miners (harvesters) you have.
