And Newtons tinkering with "engineering" of his day, based on obscure, gnostic revelations and less grounded in natural philosophy led to experiments in alchemy and a case of lead poisoning. Which parts of his life's work bore more fruit?


I take @NVK 's point that a lot of philosophizing is intellectual masturbation, a slippery walk on jagged rocks to follow a path in circles. There are diminishing returns to be sure. So, you are both right. Get busy knowing, get busy doing.
