Sigh, I read up on David Lynch‘s passing and it makes me sad to lose one more person to smoking … He was a huge inspiration in my youth and my dabblings in film.

I have shown Straight Story as a projectionist back in the days and it warmed my heart every night. It was his inner tension between the superweird and straightforward that I enjoyed in all his films. (Although the latest Twin Peaks season was too spaced out even for me.)
