I'm not going to go through Chris Giles (FT) calculations of the cost(s) of the BoE's programme of quantitive easing (QE) in the wake of the global financial crisis, but here's his conclusion:
'There is absolutely no evidence that UK QE was more effective than that in the Eurozone & the US, but it cost two to three times as much'!
Again, Britain overpays & others (seemingly private & foreign central banks) profit
