What's trending on Nostr over the last 24 hours?
quoting note1vk0…4uscApart from my wife, I have no bitcoiners in meatspace to relate this to, so I’m just gonna leave this here. No one will probably read it, but I just want to get this off my chest. Who knows, maybe it will do some good and inspire someone.
I think one of the most underestimated aspects of bitcoin is how it secretly spills over into other parts of your life. Yes, bitcoin is money in the digital age, yes, it’s a finite black hole that will absorb other asset classes, yes, inflation is theft, yes, it can make a median income earner a massive millionaire when done right. But the most underrated aspect in my eyes, and this is propagated by fellas like ODELL (npub1qny…95gx) and HODL (npub1rtl…jtfs), is it made me realize how insanely valuable my time is.
When this realization occurred, I made it my number one priority to optimize for my time. So while working the fiat mines for the better part of the last decade, every time I earned a promotion or got a better job, my aim was not to earn more, but spend less time earning the same.
Yes, I could have spent more time in the mines and easily earned 2x of what I did, bought more of the coin with said earnings and be a rich fella with a much bigger car and a much bigger house by now, but you know what? Fuck that!
In stead, I got to be there for my parents, my wife and my kids, take care of them, watch them grow, do volunteer work in the local community, and pursue my hobbies, all while showing the kids that it’s OK to work for a living and contribute to society, and that it’s not normal to get retirement-rich off some crazy bet in your younger years.
Understanding the value of my time, thanks to studying bitcoin, was a life altering moment for me, and I am forever grateful for this realization. No amount of money, bitcoin or otherwise, is worth this lesson learned and the life and experiences it provided.
Who knows, with this in mind, you can look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself the extremely confrontational question: what am I doing with my time?!

quoting note1f63…8gzwI spent another 100,000 sats on a zap-vertising experiment…
And I think I proved that advertising on Nostr actually works…
Here’s:
1️⃣ What I did
2️⃣ The results
3️⃣ What I learned
1️⃣ What I did:
I sent 4105 zaps over the course of 3 days for a total of 112,000 sats.
Each zap contained a link for a blog post:
zapvertising-experiment.carrd.co
My goal was to see if I could get a reasonable cost per click (CPC)…
2️⃣ The results:
During the campaign I had a total of 71 unique visitors to the page.
CPC was 1578 sats or $1.50 usd.
I also gained 245 followers from that campaign.
These CPCs are in line with other ad platforms which validates the overall concept for me.
3️⃣ What I learned / brain dump:
- Results were better than expected.
- I thought there might have been a bit of negative push back (however none received).
- There is a chance I am significantly underreporting and google analytics isn't picking everything up (surprised to see 3-4x the number of new followers vs. clicks 🤔)
- THERE IS SOMETHING HERE. I still don’t know exactly what the model looks like, how it scales, but there is something to be uncovered.
- Right now, this can’t be done at scale… in the future it could. I spent ~$100 and it took me multiple days. In the future there will be ways to allocate +$10,000 per day here. For context of where we are at right now, Nostr daily zap totals are around 750,000 sats - about $675 - see stats.nostr.band/ for that data)
- Something feels off with the format… simply paying someone and sending them a link… The p2p model feels right, but the format feels off.
More to come 🫡

quoting note1f2d…nu55I used to suppress everything.
Felt like I had to in order to survive.
Parents didn’t care, friends didn’t care, girlfriends didn’t care.
Everyone was happy with me being a suppressed version of myself.
It was working for them and probably for me too.
One day it stopped working.
It became painful to be who I was “supposed” to be.
So I stopped suppressing things.
I started saying everything out loud.
This pissed a lot of people off.
The world shifted around me.
I lost relationships.
I made new ones.
People who respected me for who I actually was, not just who I was pretending to be.
Life is so much better now.
But it was painful for awhile.
My advice?
Break free.
That shits gonna stop working for you sooner or later.
Might as well be who you were meant to be.

quoting note1036…nz4eThis is my best friend, bridesmaid, and a gentle-hearted Bitcoiner, Saphia. She recently lost her home and all her belongings in the Palisades Fire. Adding to her struggles, she was unable to secure an insurance policy when she moved in, and the last year has been particularly hard for her due to multiple failed IVF attempts.
Saphia has always been a source of kindness and strength for others, and now she needs our love and support more than ever. Please keep her in your prayers, and if you’re able, consider contributing to help her rebuild. Every satoshi counts.
You can send support to her Bitcoin wallet or Lightning address here: saphiarelief@tryspeed.com.

quoting note1es5…35whBoth pigs were raised under identical free range conditions. The right was supplemented with some grain/corn/soy based feed the left was left to forage naturally
Pretty much shows the benefits of grass fed and finished (no grain fed) meat.
It should also give you some indication of what grain/soy/corn does to our bodies”

quoting note106c…jqalI WENT VIRAL ON INSTAGRAM AND THIS IS MY REFLECTION:
There have been 600k views, 40k likes, and 3k comments thus far.
Not because I wanted to. I was walking into an event, and this guy came up to me to interview me. He asked me what my ideal girlfriend would be like, to which I responded:
"I want a woman who respects roles and wants to have lots of children." Then I make it clear that green-haired lefties didn't stand a chance.
Now, I am receiving thousands of comments from leftists who are criticizing me and sharing their opinions about my persona and ideas.
While it doesn't bother me, I find it intriguing and disheartening that the content that receives the most engagement frequently elicits anger and criticism, often overlooking valuable content and those who genuinely contribute their unique perspectives.
I have dedicated thousands of hours to research and hundreds more to developing my ideas, all with the goal of enabling others to access the knowledge I have worked so hard to acquire, which I believe is so critical that it spreads.
I would rather have a thousand followers who respect and value my work than hundreds of thousands of mediocre ones who follow me solely because of my appearance or luxurious lifestyle.
Traditional social networks discuss people and what they do, which I find mediocre and unproductive.
I want NOSTR to be a place where we can elevate the conversation, exchange ideas and arguments, strive for excellence, and break free from the mediocrity that envelops us.
I will continue to improve in every aspect of myself and keep doing my best at my work, knowing that I am in the right place with the right people at the right time.
Nostr or mediocrity!
