I had tried all suggestions that were also given as replies here (BIOS, rfkill, rmmod/modprobe, etc.), checked dmesg etc. Nothing helped.
What helped was to install Windows and the Lenovo driver/apps and enable the WLAN there. Once this was done rfkill etc. worked as expected. It was like there was some custom "switch" or so that only worked with the Windows apps.
