Hyperthyroidism often leads to other illnesses like kidney failure & diabetes as well. I have a lot of experience with hyperthyroidism cats & used to help with teaching cat guardians/cat foster guardians how to do care for their special needs cats, including late stage hospice invloving daily subQ treatments. It affects mostly seniors but can also affect younger cats too. A leading cause is a mainly kibble diet. I'm anti-kibble for cats due to that reason amongst several other kibble related cat health issues.
