I seriously think my big discomfort with systemd and wayland and such is that they are, in a way relatively new to Linux, very Not Unix. What I mean is that, traditionally, Linux has been a Unix-like OS, but now it’s being mutated into something else. It’s not that that something is necessarily bad, it’s just not compatible with why I used Linux for so many years.
