Does this mean that EU's going to decide that Google's eventually going to need to unbundle Hangouts from gSuite?
Honestly, bundling an enterprise chat tool into an enterprise office suite seems less antitrust-y than forcing your browser (pointing to your search engine) to be the default on an OS. That said, it also seems like if Microsoft has to unbundle their chat tool, so should others that bundle chat and office productivity offerings.
I'd love it if Teams got unbundled in the US: maybe if more of my customers were having to actually pay for Teams as a separate line-item (especially if there were forbad to give discounts for subscribing to it as an add-on to the rest of the O365), more of my customers would choose less-shitty group-chat/conferencing software …though, at this point, incumbency is already at play.
