FOSS maintainers, do you find that the “good first issue” tag attracts new contributors on GitHub? One of the projects I maintain has a fairly large backlog and I tagged a bunch of issues like this at one point and within the past few months I think I’ve got like 4 first time contributors. That kinda blew my mind given how huge GitHub is, how poorly specified my issues were, and how relatively niche the project is.
