I'm sitting in a very loud restaurant. Everyone is yelling at each other to make themselves heard. I can't hear the restaurant staff at all when they ask questions. Which makes me wonder. If everyone could just lower their voice and talk quietly to one another, would anyone have to yell at all? Is the volume increase just a self fulfilling thing? People talk loud so others talk louder to hear themselves over the first group which makes the first group louder and then a third group joins and suddenly it's just pure sonic chaos
