I’m a design person who codes a lot, so I can’t help but notice patterns. Consistent repetitions that imply intent.
In the last decade or so, a consistent pattern of increasing brutality and violence from conservatives has become abundantly clear.
The absurdity of Fox News, the increased funding for out-of-control police, the rarity of a public official who is not a straight-up bigot, the banning of educational sources that do not align with white supremacy, laws being passed to legalize white vigilantism, mass layoffs, and the US instigating multiple armed conflicts across the globe.
Juxtapose this against the rising distrust of the US government exacerbated by a grossly negligent response to covid, a labor movement that doesn’t seem to be slowing down, the current trend of US youth wholesale rejecting conservative values, and it feels like it is a response to people in the US beginning to flex their collective power to shrug off the narratives and propaganda that are keeping us shacked to colonialism.
It feels like we are in a fistfight.
