Reposting this for the newcomers to Nostr. There are many Nostr clients available and if you aren’t happy with the experience you are getting, don’t give up on Nostr but try a different client. Not all clients implement the Nostr protocol in the same way, and they implement different sets of features, so you may find you prefer the experience you get with a different client.
quoting note1jd4…tj0pOne of the most important aspects of #nostr is that it is a protocol and you aren’t locked in to a single client. If you don’t like the experience you are getting, or want a specific feature that the client you are using doesn’t have, then there are other great clients to choose from. You can even use different clients at the same time for different purposes.
While I personally use Damus, I also frequently try out some of the other clients and I encourage others to do the same. A good way to try clients is to create a new nsec just for testing. If you are trying any of the web clients, use one of the signing extensions such as nos2x for Chrome or nos2x-fox for Firefox rather than entering your nsec directly into the client.
These is a list of some of the more mature social media type clients. There are also many “other stuff” clients but I’ll leave them for maybe another future note.
