It’s just too ponderous to wade through all the duplications of actions taking on a busy account’s many posts. Xitter, Bluesky and Threads all get it mostly right. Is this more complicated than it seems with ActivityPub? It sure would increase the utility and discovery value of notifications very fast. (I see nothing about this on the roadmap.)
