Used to. Came to grips it wasn't going to happen in my 40's somewhere. Hardest thing in squaring with it was the feeling I was letting someone down by not trying. Somehow. The feeling was never particularly good at identifying who, exactly. But it was damned sure it of itself that it was *someone*.
