The defeat was too complete but I also have a feeling that they were kinda allowing the power change. They drained the system hard, messed up US and the world and now let Trump deal with it. Perfect set up for constant 4 years of mocking him until they're ready to take over. Isn't it how pendulum of dual party system works?
