Realizing my upcoming winter is likely to look a lot like my last, which is to say very bed bound. I'm trying to take a more #hygge approach than a "sleep hygiene" approach.
My bedroom has previously been strictly unfinished beyond the minimum, by necessity. Now it cannot just be for sleep, and I'm staring at these 4 walls 23+ hours a day .
So I'm finally making it a cozy place to be from dawn to dusk. Colorful paintings, whimsical chotchkes, baskets to calm clutter, moving things where they're more accessible without unsettling the cats. Things that can make making bed less stressful. Move the everyday prescriptions and supplements to my new bed desk in a beautiful basket. Put my rainbow pens where I can see and use them. Move the sometimes supplements with the backups into my end table. Reclaim my closet from my old work clothes, because realism.
Now the question is, fairy light seem pretty requisite. Do I just use my old purple incandescents till they crap out, or is there a more whimsical option available? I'm not sure I have enough light for prisms/crystals, as I'm on the north side of the house with a giant rhododendron bush outside. There's always the possibility of moving it and replacing it with something that could make more of a tunnel or a shrub I could enjoy from above or with smell.
So many options to effectively and aesthetically cram all my decorating into one single room to make it an exciting place to be while I can take it.
What one thing has made your bedroom a more aesthetically cozy place to be?
