My first company, UnderWare, was just “uw” on UUCP…and that server was a NeXT Cube that I did most of the design for Track Record on in 1990-1992 or so.
We didn’t then have a Class C range then because it was just a UUCP path, and that was, as I recall, a dial-up. I forget what brand of modem, but it was big, flat and beige.
We also had a hardwired circuit that ran between my condo and our office, over which we ran AppleTalk and TOPS.
