Before I deleted my Reddit account, I was feeling down pretty often. My subs were mostly doom and gloom and /r/all was the same.

I’m trying to change careers late in life, and Reddit is filled with fresh grads saying that coding is DEAD, there is no future for comp sci or programming, AI is going to kill and enslave is all…

I saw someone claim to be a senior at a FAANG company even say “most of the code has been written, there is no low-hanging fruit” and soon human programmers would be some uber-elite few.

Maybe they’re right.

I’m only on Nostr now, and I’m less stressed about the future. Ignorance is bliss, I guess, and all the doom and gloom from Reddit or twitter is out of my view for the most part.

I have a lot to learn, like math which was a weak point for me, but I’m excited for the future. I’ve learned you can mostly learn anything, it’s just hard work.

Proof of Work yields rewards. You have to expend the energy, you have to trade your time to do something hard that may seem pointless but is in the service of some higher purpose.
