Nuclear decay is proof that the wave function collapses naturally without observation.
Maybe it collapses every instance of Planck time (which makes sense), maybe it collapses only at the instance of nuclear decay (which is spooky).
Maybe Planck time is the quantum of time required for the wave function to collapse? ie it is not collapsed at the start and is collapsed at the end.
Maybe some quantum fields interact at the start of Planck time and others at the end.
