If you were to have a 'local app' it would have to get around so many of the pain points that come from discovering/ripping/organizing a music collection. That is mostly eliminated by streaming.
What if you could have a server with a few people so the work was shared? It's like a 'pot luck' of music. It also adds a bit of fun/discovery to see what's been added. This clearly could run afoul of legal issues OFC but worth exploring. 1/2
