I've added quotes to make my meaning clearer. Basically I was acknowledging that both styles models may have legitimate use cases.

Although it's worth pointing out that although militaries are strictly hierarchical and thus *seem* highly centralised, you could say that one purpose of all the formal structure is to maintain that hierarchy under decentralised operating conditions.
