While we often congratulate ourselves that in the last decades we have become much more accepting of mental illnesses' impact on the individual & see that treatment and support are required, not stigmatisation or punishment.... still awful & inhumane stories emerge about how social institutions abuse & fatally fail to help those with mental health issues that make them vulnerable (not least to their own actions).
