I try to only work on things I like. It hasn’t always been easy to do but lately I’m spending time in an industry I like and wish to see prosper.
It’s not really a habit I guess, more of a moving goal.
Other behaviors:
- don’t watch tv except shows I choose
- try not to work on weekends
- give my kids the attention they deserve. I’ve been lucky to raise them and be with them almost all of their life so far. I know some people don’t have this privilege.
- I outsource a lot. Some people pride on doing everything themselves but I prefer to focus on what I’m good at and let others do the things they’re good at.
- try not to stress over overpaying. Sometimes I know I’m overpaying and if I tried, I could get a better deal. But, it’s not worth the stress or the time so I just go with it. If it means a better deal for the other person, so be it.
- try to enjoy the moment. Maybe take 1 or 2 pics but then enjoy the surroundings, the atmosphere and the people. Let professionals take photos if I need to revisit that event.
- try not to judge anything too fast. I don’t have all the details and things are not always as they seem. Reserve judgement.
