#PennedPossibilities 492 — What actions or decisions does your MC feel guilty or regretful about? What would motivate them to reflect?

She recognized that her employer was both mistreating lieutenants and stirring up a war between rival mobs. She tried to calm things down, achieve her employer's goals—to deceive herself into not taking action that intuition insisted she must.

She saves her employer's life repeatedly, even as her employer's evil plans begin killing people. She even commits murder in front of the MC.

It was a Hob's bargain. The MC could have killed her employer. She didn't—and she counts a burden of 23 who died that need not have died. It gives her PTSD.

Murder. Killing her employer would have been murder. Not an easy choice no matter who you are, or the stakes.

Her choice. Her guilt.
