I noticed in my drivers that I was somehow using a non-proprietary NVidia driver, and I think that's why my Linux Mint has been a bit wonky these last few weeks.
Then when I rebooted, I got the command line of death again.
Luckily, I've memorized how to run an FSCK, so it's easy peasy to fix.
