I mean when they refer to particularly progressive voters or policy as liberal, or think liberal encompasses the entire left flank, as if liberal doesn't include pretty much everyone from pseudo-progressive and moderate dems as well as moderate Republicans. Liberalism informs all policymaking in the US no matter the party, so referring to progressives as "liberal" is dumb.
