I'm rewatching #StarTrekProdigy S2. I've got to say that I was a lot more skeptical on first watch about how the Prodigy crew comes up with the crazy solutions that are normally the domain of Geordi, Data, Seven, or the Doctor. But, on closer inspection, they do make a bit more sense.
Rok-Tahk did spend between decades and centuries trapped in a temporal anomaly studying to try to fix it. It makes sense that she would have read up on as much science of temporal mechanics as possible. Jankom explicitly states that he's following Star Fleet manuals on how to do the crazy stuff he pulls off until things get out of control and he starts percussive maintenance. Even Dal has been reading up on stuff famous Star Fleet captains have done (you'll notice he quotes them at times) so he's coming up with plans that he half remembers reading about.
