Learning to code alone, as opposed to more socially it seems makes for learning different things first. I knew many things before I ever touched #git, but when I did I had to figure out how to git switch within a few minutes because I was already on a call with the person I was presenting my project to. This is the type of thing (like all coding things?) that's incredibly simple when you already know how to do it, even if you don't it's one of the easier things when learning to code, but when you don't know how, and sometimes learn simple things very slowly, it can take a minute. You have to 'detatch' the head? Do you? Why/not? My colleague doing their own thing on the phone while I fumbled around the web to figure it out for a second was the 2nd time I've come close to #pairprogramming, and it teaches in a way coding alone doesn't. Coding alone it's very easy to fall down any number of rabbit holes, but something about being in front of the person can force one to streamline their focus to just hacking the thing to workable in the moment.
