I'll note I agree 100% with your fifth footnote that while cycling has a big doping problem, many other sports with big doping issues (NFL is a good example) are barely scrutinized. I remember seeing silly arguments in the 2000s to the effect of NBA players wouldn't benefit from doping because they'd put on too much mass. There's a pot-kettle element to some of the criticism.",
