Or tell schools that if they want to make a uniform compulsory they have to provide it to students, not parents. After all, when their children leave the school, parents often donate any uniform elements still in usable condition to the school anyway. Why not have schools bulk-buy and supply any uniforms they demand students wear, and only charge parents if they don't return them at the end of the school year.
