Saint Martyr Isihie of Năvodești, a humble monk, lived a life of profound prayer and asceticism in 14th-century Romania. He resided in a cave near the Black Sea, battling not only the harsh elements but also the spiritual warfare of the devil. He was known for his intense prayer life, weeping for his sins and the sins of the world. His solitude was eventually shattered by the Tatar invasions. Refusing to renounce his faith, he was captured, tortured, and finally beheaded. His relics are venerated today for their miraculous power.
