There are reputable sellers who refurbish them, but you can save hundreds by buying them that way. Bu, you clearly just have an axe to grind on this and nothing I say will change your mind. Apple is 3000% less private and secure than a phone you won't save hundreds on & flash a secure OS to, so it's whatever.
