Well, first how, right?
They changed the Diagnostic code system (ICD) which is not uncommon. But in this case, the reclassified the original condition to something that appears similar when it can finally, after decades, be detected (despite being there the whole time and causing a lot of intermittent by years suffering and general weirdness on occasion).
What did they switch it to? Autoimmune Polyendocrine subcondition. Because, it looks like it enough to make a case for it.
Now why..
Because the treatment causes the condition I have that fundamentally alters some very basic human physiology. This is definitely true. Enough so it was looked at for super soldier programs. But, this basic change, while kinda making you a freak in some ways.. Able to do things a normal person couldn't as basically a side-effect of the treatment. But yielding a Terminal condition.
