So, I'm setting up my pfSense router. In the setup there is a field to name the domain and a note suggesting NOT to use .local as the suffix due to conflicts and how it's used. I started to use .lan but wanted to check that it's not a TLD that might cause other conflicts.
My #homelab security lab is not going to be connected to the internet unless I need some updates. Is using .lan as my homelab going to be an issue? Will it become a problem if I decide to connect it to the internet for updates and testing?

If any of you have setup an isolated homelab or something similar how did you name your domain?
