What I’m trying to get at here: if the goal is to build a good end-user experience with centralized architecture (as Bluesky now states it does), then ATProto seems like a lot of work to achieve these outcomes.
To name an example: it’s very bad that blocklists in Bluesky are publicly visible. That’s a direct artifact of using ATProto which may not ever be fixable. And this problem wouldn’t exist if it was built on a more traditional technology stack.
