About a year ago, during a metro ride, I had a ~10-minute staring contest with a Hijab-wearing woman. To be clear, only her hair was covered. Pretty as fuck, total poker face, trying to stay serious. The contest immediately started at her initiative, but it was no more than looking at each other's faces, although I can easily assume that our imaginations had at least a few common points. She got out of the metro, I kept looking, she looked back, and that was it. I thought a few times about her. After some recent events in the Middle East, I observed that a lot of men left, but a lot of women didn't. Now there are a lot of them. Some dropped the Hijab, some changed nothing, and some went fully European. I have a few particular thoughts, especially since Instagram started to show a lot of stuff like this video. They're not for me, I have a different purpose. But I understand when Western European men, and not only, feel betrayed by today's norms. Maybe this is your chance for happiness. Be smart and have a good heart.
