this physician thinks the simplest explanation is a viral respiratory infection... fever and throat as initial symptoms, mucus onset later from inflammation explains the runny nose, dry cough from throat irritation. could be covid but there are a bajillion viruses out there that would explain it.
the only outlier is the return of the fever. I wonder if it's just circadian + interleukin. if it's affected your sleep that could exacerbate it.
