I've been re-reading my Jack Vance books, and it's really impossible to avoid the conclusion that his books are both massively racist, mostly against south-east Asians, and also have an obsession with paedophilia.

This is an author who was incredibly influential in the creation of Dungeons and Dragons and who is still cited in the latest DnD books, but reading it feels like having to dredge through sewage to get to the good bits.
