Zeus adds the tag at the beginning of invoices, some wallets don't and don't understand the tag. Even scanning QR this can be an issue. I know WoS can't directly pay a scanned Zeus invoice last time I tried. It considered the "lightning:" part of the address and then didn't understand the address.
I think the Zeus way is probably the right way, but not using the tags seems far more common in my experience.
