Emails are not websites, they are usually private communication from known contacts (in a language they already know). Messages people receive in other languages are possibly/usually spam. Offering a translated spam message, could perhaps seem like ham for some people.
Unless i'm missing something(?), that option should be opt-in only, not something enabled by default (like firefox did).
