How do you make a god-damn forum software such a pain in the ass to install?

I'm not surprised no one wants to create new forums, when you must choose between
- pile of hard-to-maintain PHP pre-framework crap and
- pile of Rails, Node.js and who-the-hell-knows-what-else mixed in Docker containers, requiring at least a whole VPS.
