Now I'm reminded of how The Kinks wrote "Ballad Of The Virgin Soldiers" for the movie with the same title, and even though the movie wasn't about that particular Colonial folly, I guess it offended a lot of U.S. station owners because of Vietnam and so it almost never got played.
Anyway, the Leon Bibb version is great, and I'm always looking for an excuse to play it again. Think I'll go do that now. 🍵
