The same reasoning could be used to argue that stocks are worthless because they are just ledger entries somewhere. But stocks represent a physical thing, a part of a business operation in the real world. Bitcoin does the same; it is issued in return for a physical process performed by someone. What would be a non-speculative demand for stocks?
