I think it's great! It's a kind of shared mythology, a place where people can explore ideas within a set framework or learn to expand on an existing ideas, hone their writing skills, engage in character analysis.
I don't write it, but I read it and 'afterwards' or other expansions are on regular brain TV rotation for me.
I would consider it the highest honor if something I made inspired someone else's creativity like that.
