One thing I notice whenever driving in Germany nowadays is how dark everything is at night. It used to be there was a distinct globe of light over every settlement, but it seems new rules against light pollution have reduced that drastically.
I think it feels weird to me mostly because I only ever visit a few times a year, and the change is so much more noticeable.
